ROLE IN THE INTUITEL PROJECT

As a service and technology provider for e-Learning solutions IMC AG has a rich experience in commercial Learning Management System (LMS) development (IMC Learning Suite). IMC contributes this experience to INTUITEL as a leading partner of the Work Package “Commercial LMS integration”. The objective is to integrate the commercial LMSs IMC Learning Suite with the other components of the INTUITEL project and thus to enhance the LMS with features that have so far been provided only by human tutors. The INTUITEL enabled LMS will give the learner – automatically deduced – guidance and feedback to achieve the required competencies. A necessary prerequisite for the LMS integration is developed within the Work Package “LMS enhancement”. IMC contributes to this Work Package with the specification and implementation of extensions and plug-ins for the IMC Learning Suite that enable the system to communicate with INTUITEL components. To this end, IMC will integrate three interfaces into the Learning Suite: a User Score Extractor (USE) providing the learner’s results in certain courses and other contextual learner data, a Tutorial Guidance (TUG) interface that allows to give natural feedback to the user and a Learning Object Recommender (LORE) interface to recommend specific learning objects for the user. IMC is moreover involved in the dissemination and exploitation activities of INTUITEL contributing in particular with contacts and activities across the e-learning industry.
